Description: This database includes Sites and Facilities that DNREC-RS is cleaning up to acceptable human-health and environmental risk levels, and supporting the continued safe use, reuse or enhanced productive use of remediated properties. Thereby, this database includes Sites and Facilities in the following programs: HSCA Enforcement, HSCA-lead, Brownfield Program, Voluntary Cleanup Program (VCP), Long-Term Stewardship (LTS), and Natural Resource Damage Assessment and Restoration (NRDAR).The Delaware Hazardous Substance Cleanup Act (HSCA) [7 Del. Code Chapter 91] gives the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) the authority to ensure cleanup of facilities with a release or imminent threat of release of hazardous substances. HSCA and the associated Regulations Governing Hazardous Substance Cleanup (7 DE Admin. Code 1375) govern several programs including enforcement and State-lead sites, Brownfields Program, Voluntary Cleanup Program (VCP), Long-Term Stewardship (LTS), and Natural Resource Damage Assessment and Restoration (NRDAR). The DNREC-Division of Waste and Hazardous Substances – Remediation Section (DNREC-RS) is tasked with overseeing the compliance of laws and associated regulations.

Description: Polygons represent the site extent of industrial stormwater facilities that are permitted and monitored by the Division of Water at DNREC. This layer was created as apart of a Division of Water initiative to accurately map all permitted facilities and sites. Having locations for these sites allows for internal staff to gain institutional knowledge which is also helpful for partnered agencies and even the public.
