snippet: This data shows all of Delaware’s Geographic Location Descriptions (GLD) for both interstate consistency and offshore projects. The inclusion of the GLD’s into the Delaware Coastal Management Program (DCMP) were developed as part of a Routine Program Change submitted to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in 2011. The DCMP identified three categories of federal activities that warrant consideration through the provisions of interstate consistency: Dredging and Dredged Material Disposal, Offshore Alternative Energy Development, and Introduction of Nonnative Shellfish in areas of New Jersey, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia. As required in 15 CFR § 930.154, the DCMP provided justification that coastal effects from those listed activities, occurring within the geographic area, are reasonably foreseeable. A GLD was also approved for the review of Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act (OCSLA) and Federal Power Act (FPA) authorizations for alternative energy projects in Federal waters 3-24 nautical miles off the coasts of New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland. Beginning off New Jersey’s coast at Hereford Inlet (BOEM lease blocks 7126-7136) extending south encompassing offshore areas of southern New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland, and terminating at the BOEM administrative boundary between Maryland and Virginia.
